About MLS Search
When you sign up as a Member of this site, you can search among thousands of MLS properties for sale in more than 40 Greater Boston communities, with access to all the MLS listing information available, including street addresses, agent remarks, photos, and other data.
Go ahead, give it a try. But keep in mind that you'll see only basic property data as a non-member--per MLS rules.
As a Member, you can get daily and/or instant MLS Alerts! Alerts notify you of new listings that meet your search criteria, or existing listings that have changed status.
The alerts are accompanied by the latest posts from our exclusive Boston Market Blog. These concise, illustrated reports will keep you current with local, market conditions. You'll find the blog on our Home page.
As a Member, you can also designate your own Hot Properties, and receive an instant alert whenever the price or status of a Hot Property changes--even on your cell phone!
Finally, you can run advanced searches with up to 23 different search criteria, or analyze the listings you select for tell-tale market variables. Both tasks are semi-automated and require only a few clicks.
Our MLS listings are updated often; none are fresher, more accurate or more complete!
Signup is required by MLS. It's quick and free, and your privacy is protected.

About This Site
I began this site as an effort to inform my buyer clients, and prospective clients, about local market conditions. Thus, the emphasis on trend reports and graphs. Of course, the market encompasses more than just numbers; there are legal, social, geographic, environmental and other issues--as well as the all-important question, "What's available?"
So, I broadened the scope by adding the "Links Library." It covers a wide range of subjects from alternate search venues, to homebuyer tips, to home inspector facts. In selecting the links, I tried to maintain a broad standard of relevance--that is, what will help a buyer in making his or her decision--as I understand it from my years working as a Buyer's Agent.
I believe that "Ron's Market Blog" speaks for itself. So, I'll use this limited space to promote the "Links Library"--with the hope that I may encourage visitors to explore it further. Here are a few highlights:
MA Bay Transportation Authority allows you to see how a specific location is served by public transport. Or, working backwards, you can consult the route maps to find what towns lie near the rapid transit or commuter rail lines.
MA Commonwealth Communities offers extensive data on all the cities and towns in the state. Each town page lists the official town site at the top, and unofficial sites showcasing various local attractions at the bottom. (Official town sites can also be reached by clicking on any of the 40 towns listed at the bottom of this page, or at the bottom of the Home page.)
MA Dept. of Education provides exhaustive data on local school districts, including MCAS scores. eSchoolProfile Report offers free comparative school reports that provide a good starting point for further investigation. GreatSchools offers parents' comments about schools.
Karl's Mortgage Calculator allows you to see graphically and interactively what happens to your purchasing power when interest rates rise, or how much interest you can save by making prepayments. Wait patiently for the Java script to load, read the sidebar instructions, and click on the graph to recalculate.
Your questions or comments are welcome.
